Sikes Concrete Supplies Clean Deep Earth Fill Dirt
Deep earth, clean fill dirt is a mined sub-soil, tan and brown color. Deep earth sub-soil is clean and compactable so it's clear of organic matter or rocks. As this dirt matures - organic material in the fill will leave voids under your structure.
This can cause settling to occur (damage) over time due to weight being put on top of that particular area from whatever you're using for construction! Beware contractors offering cheap fill; usually, if something seems too good to be true, then it probably isn't worth what you may think!
BE AWARE: CHEAP FILL DIRT MIGHT SEEM LIKE A BARGAIN AT FIRST BUT THEY ARE MOST LIKELY CONTAMINATED WITH OTHER THINGS SUCH AS ROTTED PLANTS OR LEAVES UNDERNEATH

Fill dirt is not as nutrient-rich and fertile as topsoil often used on landscaping projects, which means plants will struggle to grow. If you are using fill dirt in your garden or lawn with no other layer of soil, it should be mixed with topsoil so that the roots of newly planted trees have an opportunity to take hold.
The objective is to have soil that does not compact or defy if you happened to walk on top of it. It should be able to breathe and allow airflow, drainage problems, etc. so that your structure will last for many years without the worry of settling issues or damage from organic material in the fill dirt running true, then it probably isn't worth what you may think!
The top soil has to be made up of silt, sand, and clay. How do you know if your dirt contains these? Well first, you'll need a soil test kit. A basic one like this will work, but make sure it also tests for pH and moisture levels to give you the most accurate information about what's in your dirt.
Dirt contains rocks, roots, and other organic matter that makes it more difficult to compact into a hard surface for building construction. The majority of the native soil is a combination of silt, sand, and clay with the correct ratio being 40% silt, 40% sand, and 20% clay.
